To minimize odor, ventilation is controlled based on usage.
The hatch covering the solid waste opens automatically when you sit down. It remains open until you close the toilet lid, giving you time to use the carbon cover and contributing to a fresher experience both for the next visit and at emptying.
Urine separation is key to preventing odor and capturing nutrients. Our urine separator is designed to minimize the risk of anything ending up in the wrong place.
After each visit, the bucket rotates to create an even layer of carbon cover that dries between visits. This also fills the bucket more efficiently, so it can be emptied less often.
